The first national campaign was in France 1998. In 2000 car free day went global and it was celebrated in more than 760 cities.
World Car Free Day is great for raising awareness about dangerous amount of pollution concerns and helping to reduce emissions. One day a year is about avoiding using cars and cycling, walking or taking any alternatives.
